Trisha Smith: The Taylor Cathedral Lace Windows Class
Join Trisha Smith in this hands on class. This tailored heirloom dress features a technique called Cathedral Lace Windows. Using lace insertion and fabric, Trisha will teach you how to create a fancy band that is placed on the bodice and skirt.
The bodice is completely lined. The bodice fancy band is accented with entredeux and gathered lace edging. The neck, armhole edges, and lower front bodice are finished with a sweet shell edge trim that you will learn to make in class. The dress has a full gathered skirt with an attached slip/lining. Trisha will take the dread out of plackets as she teaches you how to make her “Perfect Puckerless Placket”. A gathered sash that is sewn into the side seams of the bodice ties in the back. The hem is self-lined eliminating the need for hand hemming. A small amount of hand embroidery completes the look. (Embroidery and placement will be talked about but not taught in class).
Most students will not completely finish this dress in class but all parts of the dress and all techniques will be covered while making the bodice. The dress can easily be finish on their own using detailed instructions.
Pattern is sized 2 – 8.
