Trisha Smith: Emily Grace and Vintage Vision
Project 1: Emily Grace
The bodice is made using wide beading with ribbon and a new and innovative puffing technique that Trisha developed. The lower edge of the bodice is also accented with the wide beading allowing for ribbon ties at the side seams. The dress has a full gathered skirt with multiple ½” tucks above the hemline. The dress hem is completed when the tucks are being stitched eliminating the need for hand hemming. While making the skirt, you will learn how to sew Trisha’s “Perfect Puckerless Placket”. The neck and armhole edges are finished with a sweet, narrow, simple ruffle using beautiful Swiss embroidered edging.
Project 2: Vintage Vision Dress
This vintage inspired dress from 1935 has soft graceful ruffles on the sleeves and then the same ruffles are used to embellish the dress front with pockets. These pockets also serve as a sweet vase for delicate hand embroidered flowers. Simple lazy daisy stitches are used to create the floral bouquets. The dress is fully lined and easy to construct with its pull over style. This garment may be worn as a dress or top depending on your desire. Join Trisha for a relaxing day of sewing while creating your masterpiece.
