Trisha Smith: Lydia and Mary Jo Class

Join Trisha Smith in this hands on class of 2 amazing projects.

Lydia: Oh how sweet she will look in this beautiful heirloom dress. The bodice is created by joining rows of Swiss Embroidered Insertion, Entredeux, and Lace Insertion. You will learn many heirloom sewing techniques while making this dress such as Lace to Entredeux, Entredeux to flat fabric, gathered fabric to Entredeux, and much more. The square neckline and angel sleeves are finished with lace edging which opens up the opportunity to learn how to roll and whip lace to fabric on the angel sleeves. The dress has a one inch growth tuck at the hem line which is both functional and pretty. This dress is sure to become a treasured heirloom that will be passed down through the generations.

Details are given for sizes 2 - 8.

Mary Jo:  This dress has two inverted pleats in the front and two in the back. The pleats are top stitched in place at the upper edge adding detail and also making the dress more form fitting at the same time.              It has a round yoke neckline that closes with a large button. A soft ruffle peaks out at the lower edge of the yoke to give this dress a very feminine look. The armhole edges are also embellished with the same sweet ruffle. The ruffles come to life when they are accented with a beautiful floral print double fold bias that has a sweet crocket scallop edge. This premade bias is so beautiful and is an easy way to finish the raw edges quickly.  If desired, this dress could easily be shortened to become a top for the larger sizes.

Details are given for sizes 2-10.
