Sandra Spring B Liberty of London Tana Lawn Fabric

Created in the Liberty studio using delicate ink and watercolour washes, Sandra Spring takes inspiration from an archival fabric fragment dating back to 1938. Envisioning how the original 1930s florals might have been painted at the time, this enchanting meadow features scarlet pimpernels, marigolds, mallows, wood anemones, periwinkles and bluebells amongst a plethora of other joyful blooms. This print is part of the Craftsmanship narrative of this collection, exploring the creative process from within the Liberty archive, from print impressions and embroidered studies, to ceramics, jewellery, and furniture. Uncover the origins of the designers’ musings through artworks inspired by their sketchbooks and prototypes.
